Integrative Bodywork sessions at Art & Science Healing combine natural, hands-on therapies with the latest non-invasive technology to address the joints, muscles, fascia and nerves. Sessions realign structure, restore movement and flow, and recharge the nervous and immune systems.

By taking the time to consider your whole body and all its functions, Art & Science gives you more thorough treatment and gets you feeling better fast. For example, back pain can be caused by the joints, discs, nerves, muscles, ligaments or tendons in the area, but it might come from further away. Stiffness in the hips, fallen arches, bad shoes, or even abdominal problems like poor digestion can cause back pain. Integrative bodywork addresses all the parts of the issue and makes lasting changes.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Healing takes time, but every effort is made to make each session impactful and get you feeling better as soon as possible. The severity of the condition, length of time you’ve had it, and overall health of your body are all important considerations. You can speed up the process by following recommendations for diet, stretches, or exercise. Many clients at Art & Science Healing like to come in at the first sign of a problem, immediately before or after a stressful event, or on a 4-8 week regular schedule for a single session.

I HEARD YOU USE FREQUENCY SPECIFIC MICROCURRENT (FSM) / I HEARD YOU DO CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY. IS THIS TRUE?
YES! Dr. Summer is highly trained in both FSM and craniosacral therapy and uses both on a daily basis. They are incorporated into your integrative bodywork session, and carry NO additional charge. Up to 5 FSM devices may be used on a single client during a session and craniosacral is available for clients from the first day of life to 100+ years old. WILL I NEED X-RAYS?
Most conditions are easily diagnosed without an x-ray. If there is reason to believe that your condition requires imaging, you will be referred to an appropriate facility.

DO YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?
Good news! Services at Art & Science Healing are typically priced below the cost of a specialist visit or your deductible. Most insurance doesn’t pay appropriately for the advanced therapies at Art & Science Healing, so we choose to partner directly with you rather than work for them. A form can be filled out for you to receive any out-of-network benefits you may have.

I'M AFRAID OF CHIROPRACTIC. CAN YOU HELP ME?
While chiropractic care has proven to be safe and effective, it’s not uncommon for people to feel uncomfortable about the way traditional neck adjustments are performed. Dr. Summer is trained in instrument-assisted adjusting, low-force osteopathic manipulation, acupuncture and many soft tissue techniques. Every session is customized for your preferences. If a particular adjustment, situation or position makes you uncomfortable, please let us know! That is information that can help us bring your nervous system back to its optimal state - a state of resilience!

“I discovered that I had ‘healing hands’ at age 12, but it took a few more years before I knew that chiropractic was the best path for me. Chiropractic philosophy starts with the principle that the body heals itself and that relieving stress on the nervous system by aligning the spine improves all the functions of the body. The idea made sense to me, but the chiropractic adjustment alone never seemed to address everything. I studied acupuncture, reflexology, myofascial release, and the scientific theories on electric microcurrents that might explain them all. I saw knee pain resolve by adjusting a toe, elbow pain disappear with cranial therapy, and scoliosis improve with the release of a scar on a leg. My practice lets me take the time with each client to give the most comprehensive treatment.”
